The Food Panty is not only for the benefit of giving food to those in need, but as a service for God. Just knowing that you helped brings joy. As a volunteer this is something that is done for God’s glory and no one else’s. You do not know why these people are coming in for help, but that does not matter, just the look of thankfulness on their face you know that just being there has helped whether it be spiritually or physically.
The Food Pantry at Wayside Baptist Church has been operating for the past eleven years. We currently have 8 members on the committee and other volunteers, ranging in ages from 5-75 years. Our members help distribute the food to eligible families. The food is USDA donated products as items purchased by the church from the Harvest Hope Food Bank in Columbis, South Carolina. The Food Pantry also receives food and non-food items from our members. At the present time the Food Bank is open each Wednesday afternoon from 3:00pm until 7:00pm except holidays and special occasions. If you would like to contribute or volunteer please contact us.
